Many companies who use the CrowdStrike cybersecurity service are experiencing service outages due to a flawed security update, not a cyber-attack. This update was pushed out on July 18, which meant many around the world woke up to the “blue screen of death” this morning.
Audit Logistics and our ALOT system is not currently affected by these issues. However, the outage caused by this update is disrupting small package and overland transport companies like UPS and FedEx, and affecting flights & air cargo worldwide on United, American Airlines and Delta airlines, which have all ordered ground stops due to communication problems. There are also reports of port services experiencing outages as well, and some of our warehousing partners in certain areas are also experiencing these outages. This outage may cause disruptions to service and long wait times.
IT teams around the world are working to get any system affected by the flawed update restored. Please reach out to your Freight or Warehouse project manager should you have any concerns about a specific shipment or warehouse.
