Did you know?

• Each year, truck and rail transport consume over 35 billion gallons of diesel fuel, producing over 350 million metrics tons of carbon dioxide.
• If current trnds continue, consumption of fuel would increase to over 45 billion gallons - a 25% increase - by the year 2012.
• SmartWay's equipment specifications can reduce fuel consuption by 10-20%. Companies can apply for government grants to help pay for costs of improving fuel efficiency.
• SmartWay's goal for 2012: to save up to 6.6 billion gallons of diesel fuel per year and thereby eliminate up to 66 million metric tons of CO2 emissions and 200,000 tons of nitrogen per year.

What are we doing about it?

• Audit Logistics, LLC has joined the SmartWay Transport Partnership to help make a difference.
• Currently Audit Logistics, LLC does 70% of shipping through SmartWay partners. By 2011, we plan to increase this number to 90%.
• We will accomplish this by helping to recruit new members as well as increasing our business with those who are already members.
• By 2011, our warehousing and freight contracts will require a commitment from all parties to support the SmartWay program.
